Braided in small batches by a handful of practitioners who trained at the old southern cloister and maintain their own informal registry of who is permitted to sell which tier of charm. A ward of this grade will turn one serious attempt and leave the wearer's skin prickly for an hour afterward, at which point the charm is considered spent. Secondhand wards are treated with suspicion, because the registry of consumed pendants is not quite as complete as the registry of consumed charms.
