Stackable
Dark red cut of game meat, dense and faintly gamy through the paper it was wrapped in, edges already darkening toward brown within the first hour off the spit. Heavier in the hand than farm-raised cuts, and noticeably warmer to the touch when fresh.

Chronicle
Taken off whatever the hunters brought back that day, from deer on the north slopes to boar in the lower thickets and occasionally something the hunters will not name at the butcher's counter. Quartered and traded before sundown because nobody trusts the next morning's weather, and the village cook assigns cuts on a rotation everybody privately disputes. Eaten the same evening it arrives, because anything else is a disagreement with the cook, and the cook wins those.
