Produced in bulk by the provincial forges under a pattern the guild has not revised in a decade, on the grounds that the pattern works and the guild is busy with more interesting commissions. Every militia recruit receives one, every other recruit loses theirs within a season, and the forge's records have stopped tracking which. A blade sharpened on a proper stone will hold its edge through a long afternoon, which is the standard the guild designed for and the standard most fights conclude within.
