StackableConsumable
A thin tome, barely a pamphlet, with a disc of river slate no thicker than a fingernail inlaid in the cover and engraved with a single closed circle. The plate is cold to hold and warm the moment it is read, and it comes apart along the circle when it goes, in two clean halves rather than in pieces.
Entry
One reading of Heal, and the engraving goes with it. A friend on the ground can be read back onto their feet; you cannot do that for yourself.
Chronicle
The tome every field company carries and nobody writes about. The plates are cut from the shale the temples reject for shield work, blessed in the same dawn batches and priced at half, and the reason it is common is that it has to be: a rune that mends a wound is a rune that is spent the day it is bought. The two halves are kept and strung, by some, on the theory that a plate remembers who it closed.
