Quantum Energy DrinkFood

Slender aluminum can in an ugly neon gradient that looks printed on two passes through the same machine, tab seated flush, liquid inside fizzing with a sound a half-second ahead of the shake. First sip is grapefruit and solder, second is apology.

Quantum Energy Drink crackles with neon-blue sparks as you pop the tab. Brewed from entangled molecules, it floods your system with a burst of stamina and lightning reflexes.

Favored by smugglers on long hauls, the drink is rumored to sync momentarily with neural implants, giving a glimpse of the next few seconds. Some racers swear it lets them anticipate turns before they happen, though authorities ban its use in official leagues.

  • Restores 20 stamina
  • Increases speed by 5% for 45 seconds
  • Cooldown: 30 seconds
  • Works best with a Quick Toolbelt when making rapid repairs.
  • Excessive use may cause temporary shifts in perception of time.
  • Empty cans are prized collectibles among station dwellers.

Lore

Produced under license by a beverage conglomerate that acquired the formula from a physics lab that should not have been running a beverage project in the first place. Each can is coded to the specific batch, and drinkers who scan the code too fast are redirected to a helpline whose operators know the questions and not the answers. Half a can is enough to short-circuit a slow meeting; a full can leaves the drinker faintly convinced they have already solved the problem the meeting was about.
