Found in the shade under the tree that dropped it, where it would have spent thirty years losing a fight for light it was never going to win. Foresters working a cut lift them ahead of the saws and replant them at the edge, which is either good practice or superstition depending on which forester is asked. The ones that take are indistinguishable from the ones that were always there, which is rather the point.
