Thin gloves in a cyan that no dye holds, cold to the touch and faintly lit at the seams. There is no plate anywhere on them and they are not meant to stop anything; what they are for is the hands staying steady through the part of a working where they would otherwise shake.
Entry
The caster’s branch of the hand rail: one point turned aside, the same as the leather, and ten more mana instead of five more energy.
Mana pays for spells and for nothing else, so these are the first piece of gear in Rare Icon that is plainly the best thing to wear for somebody rather than better than what it sits beside. A swordsman should walk past them.
Mechanics
Crafting, equipment, and effects declared on this entry.
Chronicle
Enchanters make them for apprentices and then quietly keep wearing them. The colour is the giveaway — cloth that holds a hue no dyer sells has been through something — and the guilds have never agreed on whether the extra reach they lend is the glove's or simply what a steady hand is worth. Cheap to make and impossible to fake, so a pair on somebody's hands is a claim about them that can be checked.
