Overview

Gathered off the forest floor by the woodcutters' apprentices, who are told that anything too thin for the saw is theirs to sell if they can bundle it. Villages that run out of them in late winter pay a surprising amount to anyone willing to walk out and fill a cart. The kindling burns fast and clean, and a good armful will outrun the first hour of a cold morning.
