Kite ShieldArmor
Tall teardrop-shaped iron-faced shield strapped along the forearm and shoulder, covering the body from chin to knee when the bearer crouches. Heavy; favoured by armoured cavalry and front-line spearmen who can afford to plant rather than skirmish.

Chronicle
Lore
A pattern brought back from the southern border and copied every year by a different armourer who insists his rivet spacing is the correct one. The point pattern bullies a lance off line where a round shield would just split. Cavalry recruits learn its weight by holding it level until their arm gives out; sergeants count the seconds.
