Chronicle
Bleeds out of a cut trunk on its own and sets where it runs, so the whole trade is a matter of getting to the tree before the rain does. Bowyers glue with it, fletchers seal with it, and every shipwright on the coast swears their own mix of it is the only one that holds. The pitch-boilers who render it down are easy to identify at a distance by smell alone.
