Steel bar is smelted from one iron ore and two coal at Smithing level 30 for 17.5 XP. It is the main input for cannonball crafting (4 cannonballs per bar at Smithing level 35) and Varrock armour 1/2/3 hourly Blast Furnace bonuses, making it one of the highest-volume mid-tier bars in the game.
