Fishing bait is the consumable required to catch sardine, herring and pike from bait fishing spots when paired with a fishing rod. One bait is consumed per successful catch, making it one of the most heavily moved low-tier Fishing supplies in the game.
The most reliable source is Gerrant's Fishy Business in Port Sarim, which stocks 1,500 bait at 3 GP each and restocks roughly once per minute. Catherby and Etceteria fishing shops sell the same item at the same price with smaller base stock. Many low-level undead monsters also drop fishing bait, a Recipe for Disaster running joke that explains the bait as maggots.
Beyond entry-level Fishing training, bait sees small-volume demand from summer pie cooking and from ironman accounts feeding the bait pipeline before swapping to fly fishing. The 8,000 buy limit gives plenty of room to move bulk stacks without hitting the 4-hour cap.
