Weathered Copper Door
minecraft:weathered_copper_doorThe weathered copper door is a functional door built from copper ingots that oxidizes over time, passing through the exposed and weathered stages before reaching the fully oxidized teal look. Like other copper doors it can be opened by hand or by redstone power, without needing a lever or button nearby. Applying honeycomb waxes the door and locks it at this weathered stage, while an axe scrapes oxidation back toward fresh copper.
FAQ
How do I get a weathered copper door?
Craft one from copper ingots and let it oxidize naturally over time, or scrape a more oxidized door with an axe to bring it back to the weathered stage.
Can I stop it from oxidizing further?
Yes. Apply honeycomb to the door to wax it, which permanently halts further oxidation at the weathered stage.
Do I need redstone to open a copper door?
No. Unlike iron doors, copper doors can be opened directly by hand, as well as by villagers and certain mobs, with or without redstone power.
Can I reverse the oxidation?
Yes. Right-clicking an unwaxed copper door with an axe removes one stage of oxidation, and a lightning strike will fully deoxidize it.
