Wandering Trader Spawn Egg

Wandering Trader Spawn Egg

spawn_eggenriched v1
minecraft:wandering_trader_spawn_egg

Use this spawn egg to summon a Wandering Trader, a passive merchant mob that normally appears at random near players in the Overworld, always escorted by two leashed trader llamas. The trader buys common resources like hay bales and water bottles for emeralds, and sells biome-specific plants, dyes, coral, and other nature-related goods.

FAQ

Does using the spawn egg also spawn the trader llamas?

On Bedrock Edition, using a spawn egg or the summon command brings the two trader llamas along automatically; behavior can vary slightly on Java.

Will the summoned trader despawn like a naturally spawned one?

Yes, it still despawns after about 40 minutes on Java (or 2-3 in-game days on Bedrock), and naming it with a name tag does not prevent this.

Do wandering traders from a spawn egg have the same trades as wild ones?

Yes, they generate randomized biome-specific trades just like naturally spawned traders, and unlike villagers their trades never unlock further.

Are the accompanying llamas hostile?

The trader llamas will spit at attackers if their trader is hit, except in Peaceful difficulty, defending their master much like villager golems.
