Mangrove Leaves

decorationenriched v1
minecraft:mangrove_leaves

Mangrove Leaves are the semi-transparent foliage blocks that form the canopy of mangrove trees in swamp biomes, diffusing light while casting shade beneath the tree. When broken by hand they have a small chance to drop a Mangrove Propagule or a stick, but shears or a Silk Touch tool let a player collect the leaf block itself intact. Uniquely among leaf types, mangrove leaves can host a hanging Mangrove Propagule that grows and eventually drops as a plantable sapling, and applying bone meal directly to the leaves can spawn new propagules. Leaves left disconnected from any log within six blocks will decay naturally over time.

FAQ

How do you obtain Mangrove Leaves as a block?

Break them with shears or a tool enchanted with Silk Touch to collect the leaf block itself; breaking them by hand instead has a chance to drop a Mangrove Propagule or a stick.

Do Mangrove Leaves decay like other tree leaves?

Yes, if a mangrove leaf block is not within six blocks of a connected log it will decay and disappear over time, unless it was placed directly by a player.

Can you get a Mangrove Propagule from the leaves?

Yes, mangrove leaves can grow and drop hanging propagules naturally, and applying bone meal to the leaves can also spawn additional propagules.

Can Mangrove Leaves be composted?

Yes, like other leaf blocks they can be placed in a composter to have a chance of producing bone meal.
