Gravel

Gravel

blockenriched v1
minecraft:gravel

Gravel is a gravity-affected block found throughout the Overworld and Nether that falls when the block beneath it is removed. Mining it with a shovel has a 10% chance to drop flint instead of gravel, a chance that improves with the Fortune enchantment up to a guaranteed drop at Fortune III. It can also be crafted into coarse dirt or combined with sand and dye to make concrete powder.

FAQ

How do I get more flint from gravel?

Use a shovel enchanted with Fortune. Fortune I raises the drop chance to 14.29%, Fortune II to 25%, and Fortune III guarantees a flint drop.

What happens when gravel falls on a non-solid block?

If falling gravel lands on a non-solid block such as a torch, rail, or redstone dust, it breaks and drops itself instead of falling further, and it never drops flint in this case.

Can gravel float in midair?

Yes. Gravel only falls when the block directly supporting it is removed, and it will not fall through non-solid blocks like torches or rails sitting beneath it.

What can I craft with gravel?

Gravel combines with dirt to make coarse dirt, and with sand plus a dye to make concrete powder of that color.
