No. Once placed on a block, a cake cannot be recollected, even with a Silk Touch tool, so placing it is a one-way decision.

Each of the seven slices restores 2 hunger points and 0.4 saturation, so eating the entire cake restores 14 hunger and 2.8 saturation, more than any other single food item in the game.
Can multiple players eat from the same cake?
Yes. Because a cake is a shared block rather than a personal inventory item, any player standing next to it can take a slice until all seven are gone.
