Birch Leaves

Birch Leaves

decorationenriched v1
minecraft:birch_leaves

Birch Leaves are the transparent canopy blocks of birch trees, generating naturally as part of the tree and decaying over time when not connected to a birch log within six blocks. Breaking them by hand may drop birch saplings or sticks, while harvesting with shears or a Silk Touch tool collects the leaf block itself. Player-placed leaves never decay, making them useful for topiary and landscaping.

FAQ

How do I get Birch Leaves as a block?

Use shears or a tool enchanted with Silk Touch to collect the leaf block. Breaking leaves any other way destroys the block and only gives occasional drops.

What do birch leaves drop when broken normally?

They drop birch saplings at roughly a 5% chance and sticks at about 2%, or nothing. Fortune increases the sapling and stick odds.

Why do my birch leaves keep disappearing?

Naturally generated leaves decay when they are not connected to a birch log within six blocks (four in Bedrock). Leaves you place yourself never decay.

Can birch leaves be used for crafting or farming?

They can be composted for a chance at bone meal and smelted into leaf litter, and they are a reliable renewable source of birch saplings.
