Waxed Exposed Copper
minecraft:waxed_exposed_copperWaxed Exposed Copper is a full copper block locked at the exposed oxidation stage — a shade darker and greener than fresh copper — by a coat of honeycomb wax. It never progresses to the weathered or oxidized stages.
Uses
- Weathered-Look Building Block — Used to build structures that permanently show the greenish "exposed" patina without further aging, useful for matching a specific weathered aesthetic that stays fixed.
- Copper Golem Construction — Paired with a carved pumpkin, copper blocks of any oxidation stage can be assembled into a copper golem.
Found In
- Trial Chambers — Generates naturally as part of trial chamber structures.
- Crafted — Nine copper ingots craft one copper block, then waxed with honeycomb and left to oxidize to the exposed stage before rewaxing, or aged via a lightning-free timeline.

FAQ
What tool do I need to mine this block?
A stone pickaxe or better. Mining with anything weaker destroys it without a drop.
Will it keep oxidizing into weathered or oxidized copper?
No. The honeycomb wax coating permanently halts oxidation at the exposed stage.
Can I turn it back into copper ingots?
No. Only unwaxed, unoxidized copper blocks can be crafted back into ingots; once waxed or oxidized, it stays a decorative block.
Can lightning or an axe change it back to fresh copper?
No. Wax blocks the effect of lightning bolts, and an axe on a waxed block only strips the wax, reverting it to a plain (unwaxed) exposed copper block rather than fresh copper.
