Waxed Exposed Copper Bulb
minecraft:waxed_exposed_copper_bulbWaxed Exposed Copper Bulb is a light-emitting redstone component frozen at the exposed oxidation stage by a coat of honeycomb wax. It toggles between lit and unlit when it receives a redstone pulse and needs no continuous power to keep shining.
Uses
- Redstone Lighting — Wire to a lever, button, or pulse circuit to create a light that latches on or off, unlike vanilla lamps that need constant power.
Found In
- Trial Chambers — Generates as part of copper vault and bulb decorations; can be waxed on-site with honeycomb.
- Crafted — A matching copper block, a blaze rod, and redstone dust craft four copper bulbs, then waxed with honeycomb.

FAQ
What tool do I need to mine this block?
A stone pickaxe or better. Mining with only your hand or an axe destroys it without a drop.
Why is the light level only 12 and not 15?
Light output depends on oxidation stage: 15 for fresh copper, 12 for exposed, 8 for weathered, and 4 for oxidized. This is the exposed stage.
Will this block keep oxidizing further?
No. The honeycomb wax coating permanently locks it at the exposed stage; it will never progress to weathered or oxidized.
Does it conduct redstone like a wire?
No. It only reacts to a direct redstone pulse to toggle its lit state; it does not transmit signal to adjacent blocks.
