Stone
minecraft:stoneStone is the most common solid block filling the Overworld below the surface. It normally drops cobblestone when mined, requiring a Silk Touch pickaxe to collect the stone block itself, and it can also be smelted back from cobblestone.

FAQ
Why do I get cobblestone instead of stone when mining?
Mining stone with a regular pickaxe drops cobblestone by default. Only a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch drops the stone block itself.
What tool do I need to mine Stone?
At least a wooden pickaxe. Mining with your fist or without a pickaxe drops nothing.
Is Stone renewable?
Yes. Cobblestone generators (using flowing lava and water) can be smelted into stone, making it an infinitely renewable resource.
Does Fortune affect Stone drops?
No. Fortune has no effect on stone or cobblestone drop quantities; each block still drops exactly one item.
