Uses

  • Light Source — A single pickle emits light level 6, and each additional pickle in the same colony adds 3 more, up to level 15 for a full four-pickle cluster.
  • Lime Dye — Smelting a sea pickle in a furnace yields lime dye, useful for dyeing wool, terracotta, and other colorable blocks.

Found In

  • Warm Ocean Coral Reefs — Colonies of 1-4 pickles generate on top of living coral blocks in warm oceans.
  • Wandering Traders — Occasionally sold for 2 emeralds per sea pickle.

FAQ

What tool do I need to mine Sea Pickle?

None — any tool or bare hands breaks it instantly, and it always drops as an item.

How many Sea Pickles drop from a colony?

Breaking a pickle colony drops 1-4 sea pickles depending on how many pickles were part of that colony.

Can Sea Pickles multiply?

Yes. Applying bone meal to a living coral block can spread additional sea pickles nearby, making them a renewable resource.

What is Sea Pickle used for besides light?

It composts at a 65% chance per item and smelts into lime dye, in addition to being a compact underwater light source.
