Jungle Leaves
minecraft:jungle_leavesJungle Leaves are the foliage block generated by jungle trees. They decay and drop into item form when no jungle log is within range and are not connected to one, and normally break instantly when mined without Silk Touch, dropping a chance-based sapling or stick instead of the leaf block itself.
Uses
- Jungle Sapling Farming — Break Jungle Leaves to have a small chance of dropping a Jungle Sapling, the only renewable source of new jungle trees.
- Composting — Leaves can be placed in a composter for a chance to produce Bone Meal, useful for early-game farming loops.
Found In
- Jungle Biomes — Naturally generates as the canopy of jungle trees, including giant jungle trees.
- Bee Nests (rare) — Occasionally spawns with an embedded bee nest on jungle tree leaves.

FAQ
How do I get Jungle Leaves as a block instead of drops?
Mine with a tool enchanted with Silk Touch, or use Shears — either bypasses the decay and sapling-drop mechanic.
Why is the sapling drop rate lower for jungle trees?
Jungle Leaves drop a Jungle Sapling roughly 2.5% (1/40) of the time without Fortune, versus 5% (1/20) for most other leaf types, historically balancing the jungle's dense tree spam.
Do Jungle Leaves drop apples?
No. Only Oak and Dark Oak Leaves have a chance to drop apples.
Are Jungle Leaves flammable?
Yes. They catch fire quickly and can spread flames to nearby flammable blocks.
