FAQ
What tool do I need to mine Iron Ore?
A stone pickaxe or better. A wooden or golden pickaxe breaks it with no drop.
Does Fortune increase the drops?
Yes. Fortune increases the amount of raw iron dropped, up to four with Fortune III.
How do I get the ore block itself?
Mine it with a Silk Touch pickaxe to collect the iron ore block instead of raw iron.
Where is the best place to find it?
The middle batch around Y=16 offers a strong, even distribution, and large deepslate veins appear deeper down.
