Infested Stone

Infested Stone looks like a plain Stone block but harbors a silverfish that erupts when the block is disturbed. It breaks noticeably faster than normal Stone, the main clue that gives it away before it is mined.

FAQ

What drops when I mine Infested Stone normally?

Nothing. The block breaks, releases an aggressive silverfish, and leaves no item unless mined with Silk Touch.

How can I tell it apart from normal Stone?

It breaks roughly twice as fast as regular Stone, and it produces a different note-block sound.

Does Fortune help here?

No. Fortune has no effect since the block never drops an item without Silk Touch.

Where do these blobs generate?

They form small vein-like clusters within stone in windswept hills, meadows, and grove biomes, similar to how ore veins generate.
