Infested Stone Bricks look identical to ordinary Stone Bricks but conceal a silverfish that bursts out the moment the block is broken. They break about twice as fast as regular stone bricks, which is the only visual tell before mining one.

FAQ

What drops when I mine Infested Stone Bricks normally?

Nothing. The block breaks, releases an aggressive silverfish, and leaves no item unless mined with Silk Touch.

How can I tell it apart from normal Stone Bricks?

It breaks roughly twice as fast as regular Stone Bricks and, when placed under a note block, produces a different sound.

Does Fortune help here?

No. Fortune has no effect since the block never drops an item without Silk Touch.

Is it safe to mine near other infested blocks?

Not always — attacking the emerging silverfish near other infested blocks can trigger a chain reaction, spawning more silverfish at once.
