FAQ

What happens if I mine it without Silk Touch?

The block breaks, drops nothing, and an aggressive silverfish spawns and attacks immediately.

Where does Infested Deepslate generate?

As hidden ore-like blobs in the deepslate portions of mountain biomes such as windswept hills and stony peaks.

Is it harder to mine than Infested Stone?

Yes, at 1.5 hardness it takes longer to break than the 0.75-hardness stone and stone brick variants, though still no minimum tool tier is required.

Does explosion breaking still spawn silverfish?

No. Since version 1.15, destroying infested blocks with explosions no longer spawns silverfish.
