FAQ

What tool do I need to mine Emerald Ore?

An iron pickaxe or better. Wood, gold, and stone pickaxes break the block but drop nothing.

Does Fortune increase Emerald drops?

Yes. Fortune can increase the single emerald drop up to 4 with higher Fortune levels.

Where is the best place to find Emerald Ore?

Exclusively in mountain biomes — it does not generate underground outside of those biomes, making mountain exploration the only reliable way to find it.

What is Emerald Ore used for besides emeralds?

Nothing else — its sole purpose is to yield emeralds for villager and wandering trader commerce.
