FAQ

What tool do I need to mine a dispenser?

A wooden pickaxe or better. Mined without a pickaxe it drops only its contents, not the block.

How is a dispenser different from a dropper?

A dispenser interacts with items — firing arrows, placing fluids, equipping armor — while a dropper simply ejects items as loose entities.

How do I activate a dispenser?

Give it a redstone signal from an adjacent component, powered dust, repeater, or comparator. It has a 4 game tick (0.2s) delay between activation and firing.

What happens with an item it does not have special behavior for?

Items without a defined action are simply dropped in front like a dropper would eject them.
