FAQ

What tool do I need to mine Dirt?

None required — dirt can be mined by hand, though a shovel is fastest.

Is Dirt renewable?

Yes. Tilling coarse dirt back into a hoe-able state or moss block conversion methods can yield renewable dirt.

Why did my Dirt turn into a Grass Block?

Dirt adjacent to a grass block that receives a light level of 4 or higher will eventually spread into a grass block itself.

What is the fastest way to mine Dirt?

A Netherite shovel breaks dirt in about 0.1 seconds, the fastest of any tool.
