Dead Bubble Coral Block is the lifeless, grayscale form of Bubble Coral Block, produced when the living block is placed outside of water or its adjacent water source disappears. Unlike its living counterpart it cannot bubble-lift entities or players and, unlike other dead coral blocks, it drops itself when mined with any pickaxe — no Silk Touch required.

FAQ

Do I need Silk Touch to mine Dead Bubble Coral Block?

No. Any pickaxe, wooden or better, mines it and it always drops itself — unlike dead coral fans, which need Silk Touch.

Can I turn it back into living coral?

No. Once bubble coral dies and becomes this block, it cannot be restored to its living state.

Does it still lift entities like living bubble coral?

No. The current-generating bubble effect only works on the living bubble coral block; the dead variant is purely decorative.

Can it be used to farm sea pickles?

No. Only living coral blocks (not dead ones) can host and grow sea pickles.
