The Chiseled Bookshelf is a storage block that holds up to six books in visible slots, each togglable by right-clicking. It outputs a redstone comparator signal from 1 to 6 based on the last slot placed into or removed from, making it useful for redstone contraptions as well as decoration.

No. Chiseled Bookshelves do not increase enchanting table levels; only regular Bookshelf blocks provide that bonus.

How many books can it hold?

Six. Each of the six slots accepts any book-type item, including written books, enchanted books, and knowledge books.

Can hoppers automate it?

Yes. Hoppers, hopper minecarts, and droppers can insert or extract books from a Chiseled Bookshelf automatically.
