None. A fully grown carrot crop breaks instantly with any tool or bare hands.

Does Fortune increase carrot yield?

Yes. Higher Fortune levels raise the average number of carrots dropped from a mature crop, from about 3.7 with no enchantment up to about 5.4 with Fortune III.

How did players get carrots before they were farmable?

Carrots originally dropped rarely from killed zombies before becoming a plantable crop in a later update.

What light level do carrots need to grow?

A light level of 9 or higher is needed for the crop to progress through its growth stages.
