Uses

  • Underwater Wall/Floor Decoration — Placed on the side of a block, a coral fan automatically becomes a Bubble Coral Wall Fan; used purely for decorative reef building.

Found In

  • Warm ocean coral reef structures — Generates naturally on the sides and tops of blocks within coral reefs.
  • Bone-mealed coral blocks — Can spread from a nearby living coral block or plant via bone meal underwater.

Do I need Silk Touch to collect it?

Yes. Bubble Coral Fan only drops itself when mined with a Silk Touch enchanted tool; otherwise it drops nothing.

What happens if I place it out of water?

It wilts into Dead Bubble Coral Fan within a few seconds in Java Edition, or instantly in Bedrock Edition.

Can I push it with a piston?

No. Live coral fans break instead of moving when a piston tries to push them.

Where can it be placed?

On the four side faces and the top surface of a block, but never on the underside of a block.
