Onyx bolt tips are the high-tier gem ammunition tip used to upgrade runite or dragon bolts into onyx bolts. They are chiselled from a single onyx at 73 Fletching (yielding 24 tips), but in practice almost nobody crafts them directly because the raw gem is worth far more uncut than the tips it produces. Attaching the tips to bolts is the standard step toward onyx (e) bolts, which carry the strongest gem-bolt effect (Life Leech) and are the BIS dragon bolt option for many PvM bosses.
