Oak shortbow (u) is a Fletching intermediate created by using a knife on oak logs at level 20 Fletching for 16.5 XP. Stringing it with a bowstring at the same level produces an oak shortbow, granting another 16.5 XP for a clean 33 XP per log when both steps are completed.

The unstrung-then-string pipeline is one of the cheapest mid-game Fletching XP methods, and bulk crafters often hold tens of thousands at a time to flip when bowstring or oak log prices spike.
