The jar of sand is a members-only collectible dropped exclusively by the Kalphite Queen at a 1/2,000 rate. Players can place the jar on a boss lair display inside the Achievement Gallery of their player-owned house to commemorate defeating the Kalphite Queen.

An easter egg lets players use the jar of sand on a jar of dirt, swapping their contents while a bucket of sand sound effect plays. The item is highly sought after by collectors and ironmen pursuing the Achievement Gallery display.
