About Iron pickaxe

"Used for mining."

Iron pickaxe is the second-tier pickaxe in OSRS, wielded at 1 Attack and used at 1 Mining. It mines roughly 10% faster than the bronze pickaxe and is the standard tool for early F2P miners until they can afford a steel pickaxe at level 6 Mining. Sold by Bob in Lumbridge, Nurmof in the Dwarven Mine, and Yarsul in the Mining Guild, with steady drop supply from cyclopes and hill giants.

Market Strategy

  • Shop respawns floor the price near 140 coins.
  • F2P availability and low buy limit cap flip volume.
  • Demand mostly from new accounts and ironmen pre-steel pickaxe.
  • Sub-tier compared with steel/mithril/adamant on the upgrade ladder.

Trading Tips

Bank-stand Nurmof or Yarsul for low-effort shop arbitrage.
Bulk buy on weekday lows when new account waves are quiet.
Limit orders only - bid spreads are tight near alch value.
