Box trap is the staple Hunter tool for catching mammals like ferrets, jerboas, and chinchompas. Players must have partially completed Eagles' Peak to use box traps. Hunter level requirements vary by quarry: ferrets (27), embertailed jerboas (39), chinchompas (53), carnivorous chinchompas (63), and black chinchompas (73).
Bought primarily from Aleck's Hunter Emporium in Yanille and Imia's Supplies at the Hunter Guild, box traps are cheap, stackable, and weightless — making them ideal for travelling Hunter loadouts.
