The ancient staff is a magical staff received from Eblis after completing Desert Treasure, and is the only standard staff that can autocast Ancient Magicks. Requiring 50 Attack and 50 Magic to wield, it offers +15 Magic attack and defence, a +50 melee strength bonus for crush attacks, and is replaced for free if lost. It serves as the cheapest entry point to Ancient spell training before upgrading to a Staff of the dead or Nightmare staff.
